Effective August 1, Stacy Shibao Papadopoulos is Interim CEO, and will remain in this capacity until a permanent executive is onboard.
Papadopoulos is also General Counsel and SVP of Industry Services at the American Gaming Association (AGA). In this role, she oversees AGA's legal operations, member engagement, strategic partnerships and shared services, including finance, human resources and technology.
Papadopoulos joined the AGA in 2014 as General Counsel and assumed responsibility for industry and shared services in 2016. Her responsibilities in these areas include:
- The development and implementation of association strategies;
- Support of the Board of Directors and its committees;
- Building member value beyond advocacy through education, AGA's Global Gaming Expo (G2E) trade shows in the U.S. and Asia, and priority member services; and
- Establishing partnerships with organizations outside of the casino industry that support and drive industry priorities.
Prior to joining the AGA, Papadopoulos’ legal practice focused on corporate governance and compliance, securities disclosure, executive compensation, corporate transactions and nonprofit organizations. She previously worked in-house at Freddie Mac in the Corporate Governance Department of its Legal Division and at the law firms of Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP and King & Spalding. Most recently, Papadopoulos was a partner at the Potomac Law Group.
Papadopoulos graduated from the Georgetown University Law Center, cum laude, and from Georgetown University, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She lives in the City of Falls Church, Virginia with her husband and three children.
