AUTHORIZED OPERATORS
Lottery and private operators in sports facilities, bars, restaurants and taverns.
MOBILE/ONLINE
The DC Lottery operates a mobile application throughout the District, except on federal lands and within the two-block radius of a sports facilities.
Other operators, such as sports facilities, bars, and restaurants are permitted to offer on-site mobile.
TAX RATE
10 percent for private operators.
Approximately 50% of revenue generated on the DC Lottery is allocated to the District.
INITIAL LICENSING FEE
Class A (sports facilities): $500,000
Class B (restaurants, bars, etc.): $100,000
Sports lottery retailer: $5,000
LICENSE RENEWAL FEE
Class A (sports facilities): $250,000
Class B (restaurants, bars, etc.): $50,000

AMATEUR RESTRICTIONS
Prohibited to offer wagers on college games involving D.C.-based teams, collegiate sports events that take place within D.C. and all high school sports events. However, bets can be offered on the other games of a college sports tournament, such as the March Madness basketball tournament, in which a DC college team participates.
