NBC Jackson reported on a new study conducted by Oxford Economics that examines the vast, positive economic impact of the gaming industry on Mississippi’s economy. Gaming in Mississippi contributes $4 billion to state's economy; supports 37,000 jobs and $1.5 billion in income; and generates $944 million in tax revenues to local, state and federal governments--enough to pay 30,000 teachers' salaries.
