ABC Des Moines: Commercial Casinos in Iowa Contribute $2.5 Billion in Economic Activity

ABC Des Moines reported on a new study conducted by Oxford Economics that examines the vast, positive economic impact of the gaming industry on Iowa’s economy. Gaming in Iowa contributes $2.5 billion to the state's economy; supports nearly 17,000 jobs and $742 million in income; and generates $726 million in tax revenues to local, state and federal governments--enough to pay nearly 22,000 teachers' salaries.
