MGM receives awards for training, engagement of employees

    January 20, 2015

MGM Resorts International has received two awards for its training and engagement of employees.

Software provider Achievers recently named MGM Resorts among its Achievers 50 Most Engaged Workplaces in North America. The award comes on the heels of Training magazine naming the company a 2015 Training Top 125 award-winner.

This year marks the company’s debut on the annual Training Top 125 list for Training magazine, a leading business publication for learning and development professionals. Now in its 15th year, the Training Top 125 ranking is based on multiple benchmarking statistics, such as total training budget; percentage of payroll; number of training hours per employee program; goals, evaluation, measurement, and workplace surveys; hours of training per employee annually; and detailed formal programs.

A panel of judges for the Achievers 50 Most Engaged Workplaces Awards evaluated each applicant based on the eight elements of employee engagement: communication, leadership, culture, rewards and recognition, professional and personal growth, accountability and performance, vision and values, and corporate social responsibility.

“We are very pleased to receive recognition for our initiatives, especially for those that are designed to engage our employees and support them in being the best they can be through learning and development,” said Michelle DiTondo, Senior Vice President of Human Resources for MGM Resorts, said in a statement.

A cornerstone of the company’s training program is the MGM Resorts University, offering a curriculum that includes a computer certification program, Spanish as a second language, English as a second language and an array of management and leadership programs.
