Ohio’s casinos and racinos support 18,000 jobs, contribute $3 billion in economic activity and generate more than $900 million in tax revenue, according to a new gaming industry report.

The report, from the American Gaming Association, which represents casinos nationwide, is designed to highlight for presidential candidates the impact of casinos and racetrack-based gambling on Ohio’s economy.

The numbers reflect an analysis of 2014 data by Oxford Economics, a British economic consultancy with offices around the world. The analysis includes all casino and racino revenue, spending by gamblers at ancillary operations inside casinos, such as food and beverage service, and off-site spending by patrons during trips to the casino or racino.
