Architects, engineers cashing in on upstate New York casinos

    August 4, 2014

A select group of builders, architects and engineers in the Albany, New York area are among the companies that will walk away with some winnings from an upstate casino, in the form of new contracts.

The applications submitted by the five development teams that want to open a casino in the region — one of four licenses that will be awarded upstate — identified some of the firms that will have a stake in the design and construction of the casinos.

Some lists of “associated project firms” — as they are called by the New York State Gaming Commission — are more detailed than others. The information was included in the applications that were submitted by the June 30 deadline and posted on the commission’s Web site late last week.
