Motor City Employees Serve Their Neighbors

The Motor City Casino Hotel believes that employees, and not just management, should be the essential part of the company’s charitable efforts. (1)

For instance, associates spend half a day at least twice a year sorting food at the local Gleaners Community Food Bank – an organization that distributed over 41 million pounds of food in just one year to over 550 partner agencies in five counties in Southeast Michigan.

Employees also help in the company’s efforts during the holidays to provide gifts and other support to families in need, selected from organizations working in children’s cancer support, family support, and other areas. During the holiday season, Motor City associates compete to decorate ten Christmas trees on top of the hotel, and guests can vote for their favorite tree by putting money in the box next to it, designated for particular Detroit-area charities.
