The American Gaming Association (AGA) seeks a Manager, Communications to support the execution of strategic communications and media relations efforts. Reporting to the Senior Director, Strategic Communications & Media Relations, the manager will play a key role in implementing communication campaigns, managing day-to-day media activity, and supporting broader storytelling initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, collaborative, and highly organized communicator who can effectively manage a diverse workload.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Compile and distribute daily AGA clips email.
- Monitor breaking or trending news related to key industry areas.
- Draft communications materials, including press releases, media alerts, op-eds, editorial columns, talking points, and member email updates.
- Manage the AGA press inbox.
- Support and maintain media lists and distribution databases.
- Collaborate with marketing team on drafting and review of content for AGA social media.
- Review and edit materials across teams to ensure clarity and consistency.
- Track timelines and help coordinate calendars for communication campaigns.
- Provide support for media events, press calls, and other association events and activations.
Experience, Education & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- One to three years of relevant communications experience.
- Motivated, self-starter able to work independently, as well as collaboratively with all AGA staff to advance organization objectives.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including writing and editing for a variety of platforms.
- Superior organization skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in AP Style.
- Familiarity with media monitoring and distrubtion tools such as Cision and TV Eyes.
Pay Range: $60,000 – $80,000
