LAS VEGAS - The American Gaming Association (AGA) announced today that it is planning the first industry-hosted trade show and convention for the gaming industry and that the trade group representing the nation’s top manufacturers has agreed to exclusively endorse the show. Global Gaming Expo (G2E), which will debut Oct. 1-3, 2001, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, will showcase the leading products and services for operators worldwide.

WASHINGTON — The American Gaming Association (AGA) and Reed Exhibitions, which together own and produce Global Gaming Expo (G2E), announced today their intention to acquire from GEM Communications certain assets of World Gaming Congress & Expo, creating the pre-eminent international trade show and conference for the gaming industry. The event will continue to be called G2E and will have the full support of GEM’s 12 publications.

WASHINGTON — The American Gaming Association (AGA) today announced Whitaker Lee Askew, one of the Speaker of the House’s top aides and a political professional with extensive knowledge of and experience on Capitol Hill, as the organization’s new vice president of government affairs. In addition to advocating on behalf of the gaming industry on key issues, Askew will focus on broadening the roster of gaming supporters among Washington lawmakers to include representatives of all gaming jurisdictions, as well as those from districts not located in traditional gaming states.
