WASHINGTON - The board of directors of the American Gaming Association (AGA) recently elected four new members – Michael Leven, president and COO of Las Vegas Sands Corp.; William S. Newby, managing director and head of gaming and leisure investment banking for the Americas at UBS Investment Bank; Tim Parrott, CEO of Shuffle Master, Inc.; and Anthony Sanfilippo, president and CEO of Pinnacle Entertainment, Inc. Leven and Sanfilippo are new board members, while Parrott and Newby both previously served on the board representing different companies.
“We are excited to welcome Michael and Anthony to the AGA board, and thrilled to have Bill and Tim back,” said Frank Fahrenkopf, president and CEO of the AGA. “These men bring a wealth of experience in all sectors of the gaming industry from casino operations and financing to gaming equipment manufacturing. I know that their knowledge and insight will be invaluable in guiding the AGA.”
Leven, Parrott and Sanfilippo were chosen as Class I board members, and Newby will serve as an at-large member of the board.

Gamache, chairman and CEO of WMS Gaming Inc.; Patti S. Hart, president and CEO of International Game Technology (IGT); Gordon R. Kanofsky, CEO and vice chairman of Ameristar Casinos, Inc.; Nick Khin, president of the Americas for Aristocrat Technologies, Inc.; Gary Loveman, chairman, president and CEO of Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc.; Virginia McDowell, president and COO of Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc.; Jim Murren, chairman and CEO of MGM MIRAGE; Larry Ruvo, senior managing director of Southern Wine & Spirits of Nevada; and Timothy J. Wilmott, president and COO of Penn National Gaming, Inc.
The AGA represents the commercial casino-entertainment industry by addressing federal legislative and regulatory issues. The association also serves as a clearinghouse for information, develops educational and advocacy programs, and provides leadership on industry-related issues of public concern.
