WASHINGTON - The American Gaming Association (AGA) announced today that Konami Gaming, Inc. (KGI) has joined the association as its newest member. KGI is the third major gaming-equipment manufacturer to join the AGA during the past year.

“We’re thrilled to add a company with the stature of Konami to our membership base,” said Frank J. Fahrenkopf, Jr., president and CEO of the AGA. “As more major international gaming companies enter the U.S. market, it becomes increasingly important for the industry to have a unified voice on issues that affect our business. Konami’s membership in the AGA will give additional weight to the industry’s messages in Washington and beyond.”

KGI was first licensed in January 2000 by the Nevada Gaming Control Board and became the first Japanese publicly listed company to achieve full-scale entry into the U.S. gaming machine market. Subsequently, the company has been licensed to operate in numerous additional North American jurisdictions and is actively seeking licensing in other jurisdictions to continue its aggressive expansion in the U.S. gaming industry.

“Konami has been well received by casino operators and casino regulators in its entry into the U.S. slot-gaming market,” said Steve Sutherland, president of Konami Gaming, Inc. “Konami is committed to expand its presence in both slot manufacturing and the commercial casino industry, and we are pleased to support the AGA and its efforts in addressing industry issues.”

Konami Gaming Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Konami Corporation of Japan, the international amusement-game industry giant and a leading worldwide company in digital entertainment. KGI is an innovator amongst the gaming manufacturers and casino management system providers. Konami Corporation is a publicly traded company

(Tokyo Stock Exchange, Stock Exchange of Singapore and London Stock Exchange) based in Tokyo. For more information about Konami Corporation or Konami Gaming, Inc., please visit their respective Web sites.

The American Gaming Association represents the commercial casino industry by addressing federal legislative and regulatory issues. It also serves as a clearinghouse for information, develops educational and advocacy programs, and provides leadership by addressing issues of public concern.
