WASHINGTON – AGA SmartBrief – a daily e-newsletter introduced this week by the American Gaming Association (AGA) and Reed Exhibitions – is keeping thousands of gaming industry professionals across the globe better informed about the most pressing gaming-related news.

“In the age of the 24-hour news cycle, it can be difficult for busy gaming executives to stay abreast of the hundreds of stories published about our industry every day,” said Frank J. Fahrenkopf, Jr., president and CEO of the American Gaming Association. “AGA SmartBrief delivers easy-to-read summaries of the most important news articles directly to their inboxes, saving them valuable time.”

Using proprietary technology, editors of AGA SmartBrief distill and disseminate critical gaming industry news, free of charge, to individuals working in the gaming industry on a daily basis. G2E, the leading trade event for the international gaming entertainment community, is held annually in Las Vegas and attended by more than 26,000 industry professionals from around the world.

“As an event by the industry and for the industry, G2E strives to provide gaming industry leaders with the resources they need to be successful,” said Courtney Muller, a group vice president at Reed Exhibitions, which organizes the G2E family of events. “AGA SmartBrief is an excellent example of the kinds of cutting-edge tools we offer our exhibitors and attendees to help them get and stay ahead.”

News stories highlighted in the daily AGA SmartBriefs cover a variety of topics, including efforts to expand gaming to new states; earnings reports from gaming companies; newly unveiled gaming products; news about tribal casinos; and legislative and regulatory concerns.

Each edition of AGA SmartBrief also includes links to relevant news stories and video clips, as well as viral tools that help readers share newsletter content with their gaming colleagues. In addition, AGA SmartBrief is equipped with wireless compatibility to ensure that mobile readers can access it while on the go.  To subscribe to the AGA SmartBrief, click on the new SmartBrief widget at www.americangaming.org.

The AGA represents the commercial casino-entertainment industry by addressing federal legislative and regulatory issues. The association also serves as a clearinghouse for information, develops educational and advocacy programs, and provides leadership on industry-related issues of public concern.

Reed Exhibitions is the world’s leader in organizing a wide range of events, including exhibitions, conferences, congresses and meetings. In 2006 Reed brought together more than 6 million industry professions from around the world, generating billions of dollars in business. Today Reed events are held in 34 countries throughout the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific, and organized by 37 fully staffed offices. Reed’s portfolio of more than 460 events services 52 key industry sectors.
