AGA Hires Hill Staffer as Republican Liaison to Capitol Hill, Federal Agencies

Frank J. Fahrenkopf, Jr., president and CEO of the American Gaming Association (AGA), announced today that the association has appointed D. Brett Hale vice president of government affairs to assist in its lobbying efforts with lawmakers on Capitol Hill and the Bush administration.

Currently chief of staff to U.S. Rep. Ed Whitfield (R-Ky.), Hale brings more than eight years of legislative and political experience to this position. During that time, he has served as legislative assistant to U.S. Sen. Slade Gorton (R-Wash.) and legislative aide to U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.). His political background includes work at the National Republican Senatorial Committee and National Republican Congressional Committee, as well as on several campaigns.

“Through his work on the Hill and in state political races, Brett has developed strong ties within the Republican Party, which will be a tremendous asset to the AGA in keeping members of Congress and the administration informed about our industry,” Fahrenkopf said.

Hale will officially join the AGA’s in-house lobbying team of Fahrenkopf and Walton (Wally) Chalmers in early July.

The AGA represents the commercial casino-entertainment industry by addressing federal legislative and regulatory issues. The association also serves as a clearinghouse for information, develops educational and advocacy programs, and provides leadership on industry-related issues of public concern.
