Bybee Recognized for Achievements in Responsible Gaming

Sunday, September 1, 2002

University of Nevada-Las Vegas (UNLV) professor Shannon Bybee, a former gaming regulator and casino executive, was recognized recently with a special achievement award for responsible gaming at the American Gaming Association (AGA) Awards Dinner Honoring America's Gaming Greats, held in conjunction with Global Gaming Expo (G2E).

During his many years of service in all areas relating to gaming, Bybee has earned the respect of both industry executives and disordered gambling treatment professionals.

"Shannon is truly deserving of your prestigious award, not only for his vast accomplishments assisting people who are affected by compulsive gambling, but he is a true leader and a good human being," said Ed Looney, executive director of the Council on Compulsive Gambling of New Jersey, Inc. "All of us at the [council] applaud him."
