The American Gaming Association (AGA) raised more than $185,000 for the National Center for Responsible Gaming (NCRG) at its annual Gaming Hall of Fame Charity Dinner and Induction Ceremony held in June. The event, hosted by Station Casinos at Green Valley Ranch Resort and Spa in Las Vegas, marked the 16th year of the event and the eighth year it has benefited the NCRG.
"Since 1997, the Gaming Hall of Fame Charity Dinner and Induction Ceremony has raised nearly $1 million for the National Center," said Frank J. Fahrenkopf, Jr., president and CEO of the AGA and honorary co-chairman of the annual dinner. "Our companies and other attendees recognize the significance of the research made possible through NCRG funding. By supporting this event and the National Center, they play an active role in enhancing our understanding of disordered gambling and promoting responsible gaming as an industry."
Southern Wine & Spirits of Nevada, Farrington Productions and Sandy Peltyn organized the "Havana Nights"-themed event along with the AGA and Station Casinos. During the evening, gaming leaders Jack Binion and the late Fred Benninger as well as comic legend Don Rickles were inducted into the Gaming Hall of Fame.
