Adelson Sues Wall Street Journal Reporter

In February, Las Vegas Sands Corp. owner Sheldon Adelson brought a libel action in Hong Kong’s Court of First Instance against Kate O’Keeffe, a Wall Street Journal reporter based in Hong Kong.  Libel lawsuits are not a new experience for Adelson.  Last year, as Thompson Reuters reports, he sued a Jewish group in New York City, and he has pressed earlier defamation actions against a former employee in Florida state court, a former business colleague in Nevada federal court, the author of a book on the gaming industry in California state court, and both a newspaper and a union in British courts.
