American Gaming Association Privacy Policy

This policy was last updated on Dec. 6, 2004.

The American Gaming Association (AGA) is committed to protecting the privacy of visitors to our Web site, and we have created the following policy to demonstrate our commitment to you.  This privacy policy advises our visitors and members of the types of personal and technical information that may be collected on this site and the practices that the AGA follows with respect to the use and dissemination of such information.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns regarding this privacy policy, please contact us via e-mail at info@americangaming.org, fax at 202-637-6507 or mail to American Gaming Association, 555 13th St., NW, Suite 1010 East, Washington, DC, 20004.

Information we collect

The AGA Web site collects personally identifiable information when you voluntarily communicate with us by e-mail, complete a registration form, make a purchase through our e-store or complete other forms or surveys. This personally identifiable information includes contact data (such as your name, address, phone number and e-mail address) and financial data (such as a credit card profile or shipping company account number), as well as other types of information you choose to provide us. Also, when registered members log in to the AGA site and request downloads of print-ready documents, we maintain a log of the user’s consent to our reprint terms and conditions and keep track of the documents each member subsequently downloads.

In addition, our Web servers automatically collect and log Web usage data from you when you visit the AGA Web site. This information, including your IP address, referring site, pages viewed and length of visit, informs us about how visitors use and navigate our Web site.

How we use and share information collected

We use the personally identifiable information collected through the AGA Web site to verify membership status; to provide products, information or services requested; and to improve the content and efficiency of the Web site. In addition to the purpose for which you originally submitted the information, we may use the information you provide to make you aware of other AGA benefits, products or events. We also may utilize your contact information to provide you with information about Global Gaming Expo (G2E), our industry trade show, and the National Center for Responsible Gaming (NCRG), our industry charity.

We may use third-party suppliers and service providers to fulfill the services offered on our Web site and may make personal information (including financial data) available to them to the extent necessary for them to provide services to us (for example, to process a credit card payment or ship you a product).

We may also use and share with others aggregated and/or anonymous (not personally identifiable) information that we have collected based on Web-usage data or statistical information that we have compiled about our users. In addition, to protect our user community, we may disclose personal information to comply with a valid legal process, such as a search warrant, subpoena or court order, if we find that a user’s actions violate our policies or to protect our rights and property.

Use of Cookies

Like most Web sites, we employ cookies to help visitors and members more efficiently use the AGA site. A cookie is a string of information that is sent by a Web site and stored on a user’s hard drive. We use cookies to continually enhance your experience, and may use them to store your preferences and to customize content specific to your needs. If you do not want your browser to accept cookies, you can modify the cookie option in your browser’s settings.  However, some AGA features or services may not function properly without cookies.

Choice/Opt-Out

If you would prefer to opt-out of receiving future marketing communications or publications from the AGA, please notify us of your preferences by e-mail at info@americangaming.org, and we will use commercially reasonable efforts to fulfill your request. However, we cannot guarantee that the information you provide us has not been already shared with G2E or the NGRG.

Security

The personally identifiable information we collect about you is stored in limited access servers. We use industry standard SSL technology when receiving credit card information, and we periodically review and update our security measures in light of current technologies. While we have measures in place to help prevent unauthorized access, maintain data security and make proper use of the information that we collect, no transmission of data over the Internet is guaranteed to be completely secure; and we cannot guarantee the security of any information you provide to us.

Reviewing your Information

You may review and update the personally identifiable information we have collected about you by contacting us via e-mail at info@americangaming.org, fax at 202-637-6507 or mail to American Gaming Association, 555 13th St., NW, Suite 1010 East, Washington, DC, 20004. To protect your privacy and security, we take reasonable steps to verify your identity before we disclose or make any corrections to such information.

We make content from affiliated and other third-party Web sites available to you from optional links located on the AGA Web site. Please be aware that these Web sites are not subject to the AGA privacy policy, and we thus recommend that you review the privacy policy of each such Web site to determine how that Web site protects your privacy.

The AGA reserves the right to change this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our business practices. Any changes to the AGA privacy policy, including information collected and the use and disclosure of information, will be posted here.
