TAX PAYMENTS - RACETRACK CASINOS

In the 12 states with racetrack casinos in operation in 2009, casinos contributed more than $2.63 billion in tax revenue to state and local governments, a 1.2 percent increase over 2008 data. The revenue from those taxes benefits education, public safety, economic development and infrastructure improvements, among other state and local programs.
